TE Time and Space (Samyan Mitrtown)
This hit tea shop lets you customise your brew.
Publish Date: 18 February 2020
Tea-lovers, you’ve hit the jackpot with TE Time and Space.
This pretty pink-hued space at Samyan Mitrtown (there are two other branches in Thonglor and Siam Discovery mall) is more than just a cafe. The shop combines “kung fu” tea bar, workshop space and refill station.
Sidle about to the bar counter and the friendly brewmaster will encourage you to sample blends like Red Apron, a black tea infused with roselle, cinnamon and licorice, or the bright blue Tropical Wonderland, a caffeine-free concoction combining butterfly pea, pandan, coconut flakes and more, before ordering a pot of your own. So, where does the "kung fu" part come in, you ask? Let's just say these guys have got skills.
Many blends featuring local-only herbs, fruits and flowers, while starting from just THB 200 you can whip together your own one-of-a-kind tea.
Those after more refreshment can try tea-centric mocktails like Green Peace, which fuses Fujian tea with peach syrup, mandarin orange and organic longan honey.
Even the financiers come infused with teas like Earl Grey, while you can also grab scones or a lemon tart for sustenance.
They want you to keep coming back, too, so bring your old TE container and you can refill it with tea at a discounted price. Check their Facebook page for upcoming tea workshops.
How to get there: Samyan Mitrtown sits less than a 10-minute taxi ride from Siam@Siam Bangkok (which should cost less than THB80). Alternatively, the shop is a roughly 25-minute walk away, which gives you a good chance to check out some of the street art in the area as part of the Chula Art Town initiative. Just turn right at MBK Center and head straight down Phayathai Road. The mall will be on your right when you meet Rama 4 Road.
A ritzy shopping mall with few rivals in Southeast Asia.
There's something for everyone at this behemoth mall.
