There’s something for everyone in this shopping mecca.

If there’s one thing synonymous with Siam, it’s shopping. All located a breezy walk from the super-central BTS Siam station (and within happy striking distance of S@S Bangkok), theses malls have it all—from big-name international fashion houses to rising local design talent, global dining chains to tasty Thai cuisine, and a whole lot more.

Siam Discovery

As sophisticated and cool as malls come, Siam Discovery appeals to shoppers with an eye for modern design and an eco-conscious mind. Each floor is jam-packed with creative goods, cutting-edge technology and hip fashion brands. Here, you’ll also find Madame Tussauds Wax Museum as well as Ecotopia, which takes over the top floor with a huge range of handicraft items and sustainable wares from young designers, spanning home decor and clothing to cosmetics and organic food supplies.

Siam Center

Fashionistas flock to this mall which stylishly packs together over 200 international and local brands. Siam Center sits between Siam Discovery and Siam Paragon, with all three malls linked to the Siam BTS station by a skywalk. Aside from all the chic clothing, including many exclusive to Siam Center, the mall is also home to a food court that’s a bit of a hidden gem and regularly welcomes openings from the region’s most buzzing dessert stalls, like Japan’s Ringo apple custard pies (here known as RAPL).

The shopping maze at the centre of Siam, SQ1 is an enormous seven-storey-high building packed with digital gadgets, lifestyle brands and wallet-friendly fashion labels that are a hit with the local student crowds. Be sure also to check out LINE Village, the text-messaging giant’s first indoor digital theme park—prepare for a cuteness overload.

Siam Paragon

Ranked as Bangkok’s most checked-in place across social media, Siam Paragon is home not only to 250 of the world’s trendiest luxury fashion stores but also Southeast Asia’s largest aquarium. A wealth of top local and international food names can be found here, from New York’s Clinton Street Baking Company to Osaka’s oozing Pablo cheese tarts. The mall is super-accessible as it sits right in front of Siam BTS station, from where you can easily scoot off all over town.

CentralWorld

Don’t be overwhelmed by the largest mall in Thailand. CentralWorld is home to pretty much everything you could hope for in a mall, from mega-chain restaurants and the latest fashion boutiques and sneaker stores to a massive cinema and even an ice-skating rink. Special mention goes to the adjoining Isetan department store which is a little slice of Japan in Bangkok. Take a break from the shopping at one of the numerous cool coffee houses (our top picks are Red Diamond and Casa Lapin).

MBK Center

Open since 1986, this tourist haven remains one of the must-visit shopping destinations in Bangkok. Across 89,000 square metres and eight floors, you’ll be able to find it all, from mobile phones and affordable fashion to luxury furniture and, yes, plenty of Thailand trinkets to take home. The mall’s fifth-floor food court is a favourite of in-the-know foodies, while there is also a cinema and gaming arcade to while away the hours.

Siam Square

Not so much a mall as a huge open-air shopping complex, Siam Square is Bangkok’s answer to Seoul’s Myeong-dong or Tokyo’s Ginza. Full of colourfully dressed youngsters day and night, this is the spot to head for clothing and accessories at every price point. Perhaps what’s most exciting is the diverse array of yummy food on offer, from somtam (Thai-Isan papaya salad) to all the latest internationally trending treats.
