Jim Thompson was an American businessman credited with sparking life into the Thai silk industry in the mid-20th century before mysteriously disappearing in 1967. His former home is an oasis of calm comprising six traditional Thai-style teak house that have each been relocated from Ayutthaya, Thailand’s ancient capital an hour to the north of Bangkok. Each house displays a jaw-dropping array of Asian artworks, antiques and other collectibles from Thompson’s personal collection, while an on-site restaurant serves up classic Thai dishes and desserts.
